The story

Shaun Of The Beer Garden

Two mates. Two pints. One badly timed apocalypse.

Shaun of the Beer Garden brings the humour of Shaun of the Dead to a familiar British pub garden, where two weary friends refuse to let the approaching undead ruin their evening.

Armed with a cricket bat and a garden chair, the pair defend their table while keeping a firm grip on their pints. A packet of crisps remains within reach—because even during the apocalypse, priorities matter.

Glowing pub windows, twinkling fairy lights and overflowing hanging baskets create a welcoming backdrop to the chaos. Rich amber light contrasts with cool teal shadows, while expressive acrylic brushwork and raised paint details bring texture, movement and character to the scene.

Concept & inspiration

Shaun of the Beer Garden takes the everyday humour and unlikely heroism of Shaun of the Dead and brings them to that most treasured British institution: the pub garden.

Beneath twinkling fairy lights and overflowing hanging baskets, two weary friends face an unwelcome interruption to their evening. With a cricket bat, a garden chair and stubborn determination, they defend what matters most: two perfectly good pints and a packet of crisps.

Warm pub windows and rich floral colours sit against the cool evening shadows, making the approaching undead feel almost like troublesome locals at closing time. Expressive acrylic brushwork captures the chaos, while the pair’s determined grip on their drinks supplies the punchline.

It’s a fond celebration of British understatement, friendship and the belief that even the apocalypse shouldn’t spoil a quiet pint.

Process

Painted in acrylic on canvas, using layers of rich colour and expressive brushwork to create depth, movement and texture. Raised paint details catch the light, bringing a tactile quality to the cinematic composition.
