Kate Silverwood is the owner of the Red Carpet Cinema, an artist and a firm believer that everyday life leaves plenty of room for extraordinary adventures—even if some of them happen entirely in our heads.
For Kate, painting began during a difficult chapter. With too much on her mind and too many nights spent awake at 3 a.m., she picked up a paintbrush. What followed was months of painting—and the rediscovery of something bold, spirited and wonderfully mischievous.
That feeling became the starting point for Kate Silverwood Originals.
Working in acrylic on canvas, Kate creates contemporary cinematic pop art filled with character, colour and humour. Her love of film finds its way into nostalgic settings, unexpected encounters and scenes that invite you to imagine what might happen next.
At the heart of her work is the adventurous spirit beneath the surface of ordinary life, particularly the imaginative lives of women. We might be emptying the dishwasher, driving up the A38 or heading into a boardroom, but our thoughts can take us somewhere else entirely. Somewhere daring, glamorous, ridiculous—or all three.
Kate’s paintings celebrate that freedom. They offer a glimpse of the personalities we recognise in ourselves, treasure in our friends and sometimes forget to make room for.
Creating the Red Carpet was about bringing people together through film and food. Through her art, Kate hopes to offer another kind of entertainment: a moment to smile, escape and let your imagination wander.
