The story
Licence to Queue
Licensed to thrill. Obliged to wait.
Licence to Queue brings the glamour of classic Bond films to the great British seaside, where even a suave secret agent must wait his turn for fish and chips.
Dinner jacket immaculate and martini in hand, our hero joins the holidaymakers outside a traditional chippy. Meanwhile, his prized sports car attracts the attention of a traffic warden—a situation that charm and a raised eyebrow may struggle to resolve.
Currently in its initial pencil-sketch stage, the composition sets out the characters, seaside setting and visual humour ahead of painting. Light outlines on canvas offer an early glimpse of the scene as it develops into a contemporary cinematic pop-art piece.
Concept & inspiration
A suave Bond-inspired agent waits patiently at a seaside fish-and-chip shop, dinner jacket immaculate and martini in hand. His glamorous car has attracted the attention of a traffic warden.
